Fancy a stay at Gladstone's Library to work on a new writing project? Applications close on Friday.
Hello! How are you doing this week? I had some lovely news this morning: I’ve been shortlisted for an Inspire Global Media Award. It’s so nice to get a nod for my travel writing, especially one of my favourite pieces (Georgian cheese bread FTW!). Speaking of awards, this is your reminder that the deadline for the FWJ New Directions Bursary is imminent – applications close at noon on Friday. Do take a leap of faith in your work and submit. Wonderful things happen when we get behind our creativity.
Mental health company, Spill, is creating useful, educational articles about supporting mental health in the workplace. They need writers who can take research, science, and critical analysis, and present it in an easy-to-understand and authoritative way. (Here’s an example of their style). They’re not looking for first-person experience writing or specific pitches – they’re looking to commission the following three topics:
How to support an employee with ADHD.
What is an employer's duty of care when it comes to mental health at work?
How to support an employee with an addiction.
The articles will be around 1,500 - 2,000 words each. Rate is £3 per word, with additional budget to commission extra research/surveys where necessary. If you're interested in writing any of these articles, email founder Calvin Benton – calvin@spill.chat – with a basic bio and an example of your work.
